Tibet Tour - Everest Base Camp

Lhasa, capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region, covers an area of 544 square kilometers and is "The Land of Gods" in Tibetan, sits on the north bank of River Lhasa, a tributary of the Yarlung Tsangbo River, at an altitude of 3,700 meters. It has a history of over 13 centuries. With more than 3,000 hours of sunshine annually, Lhasa is famed as " the City of Sunshine". It is the capital of Tibet Autonomous Region and the center of Tibet's political, economic, cultural and religious activities. There are many historic sites and famous relics in the city proper and its suburbs, among which the Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery and Ganden Monastery are world famous.

Day 1: Arrival day in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft)
Welcome to Himalayan country of Nepal. Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan intl. airport our representative welcomes you and assists to transfer in your hotel in Kathmandu. After time to get refreshed, evening you'll meet and transfer for welcome dinner in one of the typical Nepalese restaurant i the heart of Kathmandu and briefing about your trip and overnight at Hotel.

Day 2: Kathmandu valley sight seeing and trip preparation
After breakfast, guided tour of world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley and visit the highlights of Kathmandu and the surrounding areas. We take you to visit the pilgrimage sites of Hindus temple Pashupatinath, one of the most important shrine of Shiva temples on the subcontinent which is place of thousand of devotees, Saddhus (holy men/Baba), and can be seen the cremating body most of the times in the holy riverbank of Bagmati. Hundreds of monkeys are giggling with you and take a time to exploring surrounding area and visit Bouddhanath stupa an another pilgrimage centre which is most popular and important place for Buddhist. You can explore with rounding prayer wheel and flattering colorful flag with melodious chanting noise.

DAY 3: Fly to Lasha from Kathmandu (3650m/11,972ft), 1 hr Trans Himalayan Flight
Taking the flight into Tibet upon your arrival. Local guide will meet you and transfer you to Lhasa. On the way, you can enjoy the heart-beating highland view along the Yarlong Tsangpo river( the longest river in Tibet). The rest time is free for relax and more oxygen.

DAY 4: Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor street
The first day of sightseeing starts from Lhasa's cardinal landmark- Potala Palace, a structure of massive portions. Its towering image already appearing on various occasions, but your first sight of the Potala will still be an awe-inspiring moment. It takes at least a good 2-hour to visit those rooms, halls and chapels. In the afternoon, we will drop a visit of the Jokhang Temple, the spiritual center of Tibet. Everyday, pilgrims from every corner of Tibet trek a long distance to the temple. The temple is the product of Han, Tibetan and Nepalese architectural techniques. Then we will visit Barkhor, the oldest street in a very traditional city in Tibet.

DAY 5: Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastey
About 8km west of central Lhasa is the Drepung, once world's largest monastery with about 10,000 monks. This day's sightseeing begins with these white monastic buildings piled up on the hillside. Walking up to the hill is a pleasant thing, an easy break from the solemn ambience inside the halls and chapels. At the plat roof of hillside, you can have very good views of the whole Lhasa city and the distant mountains. Drepung is one of Lhasa's two great Gelugpa monasteries, the other is Sera. Around 5km north of central Lhasa, Sera may not be as grandiose as Drepung, but is more serene surrounded by many small temples. The 'Buddhism Scriptures Debating' in Sera is very famous.

DAY 6: Lhasa-Gyantse (12,956ft), 261 km
Today you will drive about 300KM to Gyangtse. Take a look at YamzhogYumco Lake on the way and overlook Kalais Kora Glacier. Yamdrok Lake is a coiling, many-armed body of water shaped like a scorpion. It doubles back on itself on the western side, effectively creating a large island within its reaches. For Tibetans, it is one of the four holy lakes of Tibet. And the home of wrathful deities. The lake lies several hundred metres below the road, and in clear weather is a fabulous shade of deep turquoise. Far in the distance is the huge massif of Mt. Nojin Kangtsang (7191m)

In the afternoon, you will arrive in Gyangtse and go for the tour of Palkhor Temple, built in the 15th century, is situated in the west of Gyantse Town with mountains enclosing form three sides of the east, west and north. Its uniqueness is that its three sects of Buddism-Shaja, Ningma and Guolu stayed harmoniously under one roof.

DAY 7: Gyantse-Shigatse (3900m/12,792ft), 90 km
Drive about 90KM to Shigatse which is the second largest city in Tibet. It's also the home town of Banchen Lama. In the afternoon, you will drop a visit of Tashilumpo monastery. Tashilumpo, sprawls on the slops of Mt. Niser, southwest of Shigatse. It covers an area of about 300,000 square meters. There are many valuable and rare historical articles in the monastery.

DAY 8: Shigatse to Shegar (4100m/13,448ft), 244 km
This morning we'll visit Tashilumpo Monastery before driving on to reach Shegar. Tashilumpo lies at thefoot of Drolmari, or Tara's Mountain, on the western side of Shigatse. It is one of Tibet's most influential monasteries, founded in 1477 by Gendun Drukpa, the first Dalai Lama. Inside the monastery, the Maitreya Chapel is the tallest building and houses the world's largest brass statue of Buddha at 26.2 meters (86 feet) high, seated on a 3.8 meter (12 foot) high lotus throne made of gold, brass and precious gems. We'll carry on reaching at Shegar. Shegar is not far (around 100km) from Base Camp but the poor road means it takes around 4 hours to reach there.

DAY 9: Shegar to Rongbuk (4800m/15,744ft)
This morning after breakfast we drive to Rongbuk through beautiful Tibetan countryside. After reaches at Rongbuk check in to the basic hotel, where is you need to be sharing room with other travel and remaining time we'll take to explore Rongbuk Monastery - the highest monastery in the world and back to hotel for overnight stay.

DAY 10: Explore Everest Base camp (5,150m/16,892ft)
This day we are visiting the world highest mountain Mt. Everest base camp, a truly amazing and memorable experience. This morning we'll drive to Everest Base Camp and take plenty of time to explore the area and back to Rongbuk for overnight. Remaining time think about the amazing memorable scenery and relax at the hotel watch and go by Tibetan lifestyle.

DAY 11: Rongbuk to Zhangmu (2,300m/7,544ft) 123 km
We following our breakfast and continuing our further journey to Zhangmu with long drive today. This place also known as Khasa bazzar, Zangmu sits on a mountainside10km inland from the Friendship Bridge over the Bhote Koshi River. It's a small town built along a winding road that has become a major trading post between Tibet and Nepal that also enjoys a subtropical climate of warm, humid weather and beautiful scenery throughout the year. En route we'll be crossing over the Lalung La pass from where we'll have magnificent views of Mt Cho Oyu (8,201m/26,900ft) and Mt Shishapagma (8,212m/26,935ft), magnificent peaks that seem dwarfed by the height of Tibet itself and we descent from Nyalam to Zhangmu for overnight.

DAY 12: Zhangmu to Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft)
This morning we'll drive back across the Tibet -Nepal border at Kodari and after the custom formalities we drive to Kathmandu through the beautiful Nepalese countryside takes (4-5 hours). After check in to the hotel remaining time rest and relax at the hotel.

DAY 13: Half day Kathmandu valley sight seeing
After your breakfast at hotel we'll be ready for 3 hrs Kathmandu valley sight seeing as visit Swoyambhunath stupa also known as monkey temple covering wide range of area with highest point of Kathmandu valley and enjoy the 360 degrees of valley view. After exploring the surrounding areas visit to Kathmandu Durbar Square which is old royal palace of Kathmandu and can be seen lot of temple, architectures and Kumari (living goddess) and walk in a freak street and afternoon back to hotel for the lunch and remaining time last minutes shopping or simply relax at the hotel.

DAY 14:
Fly back home
