Mera Peak is the highest trekking peak in Nepal situated at the east of Khumbu valley & Mt. Everest. Mera Peak is one of the technical trekking Peaks so you should have basic climbing or mountaineering experience join this trip. Mountaineers who plan to go for higher peak climbing above 7000m it could be best learning spot. You could gain good enough climbing technique & mountaineering experience here. It ranks among the most rewarding peak climbing in Nepal and leads to a true mountaineering experience. Jimmy Roberts and Sen Tenzing made the first successful ascent of Mera Peak on 20 May 1953. The route they used is still the standard route. However there are many other routes crossing over high & difficult passes which lead you to the Base Camp & Summit of Mera Peak. We established a last high camp on the Mera la, a stunning view point before to make a successful summit. The views from the summit are dramatic along with Mt. Everest; the unclimbed south face of Lhotse and Nuptse on the north and Kanchanjunga, chamlang and Maklu on the east. Our itinerary starts after Trans Himalayan flight to incline airstrip Lukla and continue further to the east following through fascinating Sherpa Villages to Mira Base Camp (5,099m/16,729ft) situated at the base of an immense glacier leading to the Mera La Pass. The climb from Mera La to the Summit is gradual with outstanding mountain views. After a successful summit, we take a short cut route back to Lukla and take an early morning flight back to Kathmandu.
