
Mt. Everest is the tallest peak in the world. Everest region is also the home of the Sherpa people and mysterious Yeti. It is located in the northeast of Nepal. The best known of all Himalayan tribal people, the Sherpas live mainly in this Solu Khumbu region at the foot of Mt. Everest and they establish themselves as the world famous high altitude climbers. The trek itself takes you amongst many Sherpa villages and fabulous mountain scenery. Walking through famous Sherpa village of Namche Bazar and Tengboche monastery will bring you a spectacular view of mesmerizing peak of Ama Dablam and Everest. Diverse range of wildlife, ethnic groups and vegetation are seen in this region. The best time to visit is spring and autumn.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu, cultural day in Kathmandu city (1300m).
Arrive Kathmandu, and transfer to the hotel meet the guide staff.Overnight stay in Kathmandu.
Today there is an organized sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Durbar squire that will give you a basic orientation of the area for further exploration on your own.
DAY 3: Kathmandu –Lukla (By Air) Trek To Phakding 2,660m (Bld)
In the morning we take a spectacular 40 min. flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, perched at 9400ft (2865m) in the Khumbu region of Eastern Nepal. The flight is bound to be one of the most exhilarating you will ever take. Much of it is only a few thousand feet above ground and the views of the terraced landscape and river valleys below, as well as the closeness of some of the world’s highest mountains make it a truly memorable experience. In Lukla the porters load up and we proceed to Phakding (8700ft, 2650m), an easy afternoon’s scenic walk Phakding.
DAY 4: Phakding Trek To Namache Bazar 3,440m (Bld)
Today there is a long, steep climb up to the town of Namche Bazaar (11300ft, 3440m), the main distractive and trading centre for the Khumbu region. The climb is, however, made easier by the distractions offered by the magnificent forests of blue pine, fir, juniper and rhododendron as well as our first views of Mt. Everest.
DAY 5: Namchebazar 3,440m (Bld)
Acclimatization day at Namche. This day can be spent relaxing at NAMCHE, exploring the tiny shops in the bazaar and the local museum with exhibits of the flora, fauna, and history of the Everest region. You can also participate in an optional hike to some of the sherpa villages nearby, such as Kunde,Khumjung, or walk to Thame.
DAY 6: Namchebazar Trek To Tyangboche (Bld)(3875m)
Morning visit to the colourful market, where local and Chinese goods (brought over the high passes from Tibet) can be seen and purchased. We then head for Tengboche, along a trail with spectacular views of Everest, Lhotse, Kantaiga, and Ama Dablam. Our campsite is at Tengboche (12700ft, one of the most impressive locations on earth and site of the region’s most important Buddhist monastery (faithfully rebuilt since the 1989 fire). We will have the opportunity to explore the monastery and see monks at prayer.
DAY 7: Tyangboche Trek To Dingbuche (Bld) 4252m
Today 4-5 hour walking. Upon arrival Dingbuche, short excursion up the Imja Khola valley to Chukkung to get a marvellous view of the surrounding mountains, especially Lhotse’s massive south wall. This is the second of our important acclimatization days, and it can be spent in Dingboche relaxing by the village stream enjoying scenic views of Ama Dablam.

DAY 9: Dingbuche – Trek To Lobuche 4930m (Bld)
It is a short but steep climb up to Lobuche (16175ft, 4930m), which is really just a few huts at the foot of giant Lobuche peak. Again the views are spectacular and the sunset on Nuptse, towering directly ahead of Lobuche is especially impressive.
DAY 10: Lobuche – Trek To Gorakchep (Bld)
This will be one of the most difficult yet rewarding days of the trek. Most of this day is spent climbing Mt. Kala Patar, a small peak (by Himalayan standards) at 18200ft, 5545m. The ascent is demanding but the climber gets the most magnificent mountain panorama possible: Everest, the highest point on the planet at 29028ft, 8848m, towers directly ahead and on all sides loom the other giants, Nuptse, Pumori, Chagatse, Lhotse and countless others. If possible we can stay and watch the awe-inspiring sunset on Everest and its neighbours. We make a quick descent to Gorak Shep, a tiny hamlet at 16950ft, 5170m, where we stay the night.
DAY 11: Gorakchep Trek To Everest Base – Lobuche(Bld)
On this day we walk along the Khumbu Glacier and up to Everest Base Camp at 17600ft, 5380m. , the closest you can get to Mt. Everest without mountaineering equipment. There will likely be a team there about to attempt the summit. The view of the Khumbu Icefall from Base Camp is spectacular. We return.
DAY 12: Lobuche – Pangbuche (Bld)
From Upper Pangboche we descend to join the main trail above Tengboche and continue on down to Khumjung.
DAY 13: Khumjung – Jorsale (Via Namche Bazar) (Bld)
From Khumjung we continue our descent via Namche to Jorsale.
DAY 14: Jorsale – Lukla (Bld)
An easy day’s walk brings us back to Lukla for our final night in the Khumbu. Although it may have looked primitive the first time through, Lukla will seem quite modern after the isolated villages up the valley.
DAY 15: Jorsale – Lukla (Bld)

DAY 16: Lukla – Katmandu (By Air) (B)
An early morning flight takes us back to Kathmandu, and gives us a last view of the mountains we have just spent two weeks exploring.
DAY 17: Kathmandu (B)
Free in Kathmandu to continue exploring the valley and surrounding hill towns.
DAY 18: Departure (B)
Breakfast in hotel , drive to airport. End of program. Fly home. OR start optional trips in India, Burma, Thailand or other exotic areas!
